At the MACC, we offer dance classes for students of all ages and skill levels, from young children taking their first steps to adults exploring movement for fitness, expression, and fun. Our programs include ballet, jazz, tap, contemporary, lyrical, hip hop, and musical theater, combining technique, creativity, and performance opportunities to help every dancer build confidence and a lifelong love of movement.

Contemporary Ballet I & II
Thursday Afternoon
Addison McMullin has been dancing for nearly 17 years, training in Vaganova ballet, pointe, contemporary, jazz, tap, and modern at Ballet Tennessee, Chattanooga Ballet, and the Chattanooga Center for Creative Arts. She has performed lead roles, choreographed showcases, and attended Joffrey Ballet and Milwaukee Ballet summer intensives, bringing extensive training and performance experience to her students.

Lauren Day
Ballet
Thursday Afternoon
Lauren Day began her dance training in 1996 with Ballet Tennessee Conservatory and continued with advanced programs including Joffrey Ballet, Alvin Ailey, and the Virginia School of the Arts. She studied the Vaganova method while attending Birmingham Southern College and has enjoyed a long career teaching, dancing, and choreographing locally. Now in her seventh year at the MACC, Lauren helps students build joy, confidence, and self-expression through movement while fostering a love of dance.

Crissy Algea

Monday Evening
Crissy Algea holds a Master’s in Human Movement Science from the University of Memphis and has 16 years of dance training in ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, hip hop, and musical theater. She has performed in over 30 theatrical productions and a traveling dance group, and has taught dance since 2008 in Memphis and at the Mountain Arts Community Center, where she is now in her fourth year. Crissy inspires students through creative, playful classes that blend movement, storytelling, and music, helping children build confidence, self-expression, and a love for the arts.

Southern Irish Dance
Monday and Thursday Evening
Our teachers have unique backgrounds and training from Ireland, England, and America which give our school diversity and experience in all areas of dance, including team and solo competition, performance, exercise, and sharing the love of the tradition and culture of Irish dance. We each share the passion of teaching, and we are committed to the education and success of every student. Our lives have been influenced by many great teachers and dancers, and we are excited to pass on our knowledge to our dancers.
