A RICH HISTORY
The Mountain Arts Community Center (MACC) is more than a place to take a class — it’s a vibrant community hub dedicated to creativity, connection, and lifelong learning. Housed in the historic Signal Mountain Grammar School, a native-rock building constructed in 1926 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the MACC preserves local heritage while inviting generations to grow through the arts.
Originally created in 1999 when the Signal Mountain Elementary School closed, concerned residents worked with the Town to save the building and transform it into a community arts center. Over the years, the MACC has grown into a beloved destination for visual arts, music, theater, wellness, and enrichment for people of all ages.
