Liz Moore is a licensed physical therapist with 20 years of experience who has recently moved to Signal Mountain from Birmingham, AL with her husband and two children. She has worked in a variety of settings including orthopedic sports medicine, neuro rehab, general geriatric rehab, home health, and nursing homes. She was also a Division 1 soccer athlete in college and became interested in physical therapy while going through rehab for her own personal injuries. She has a passion for helping people stay active and overcome their limitations to reach their personal goals. She has been active in her community with fall prevention classes for older adults and an ACL prevention program for soccer players. She wants to bring her desire to educate and help people of all ages to the mountain community.
Fit For Life
Low Impact Strength and Balance
Monday and Wednesday from 10:00am to 11:00am
(Friday Classes Starting in September)
$6 per class
This class is for anyone wanting to improve their overall fitness to gain more energy and strength for everyday life. The focus will be on balance, strength, and flexibility with most activities performed in standing with support available such as a chair for more challenging balance activities. Modifications are given throughout the class so all levels are welcome.
Renew
Renew is a 45 minute class with all seated exercises to improve motion, strength, flexibility and posture. Perfect for those not able to tolerate a lot of standing exercises but want to work on keeping their bodies moving and strong. If you are trying to get back to more activity, this is a great place to start.
Fee: $5/class
Time and Location: Meets Monday and Wednesday from 11:15-12:00 in the cafeteria. Parking available in the back for easy access.
Sports Performance Class
8 weeks Thursday 7-8 pm (September 14th to November 9th - No Class October 12th)
Cost: $175
Ages: 12-18
This class focuses on correct running, jumping, cutting and body
movement along with strength and flexibility with a variety of
activities that will challenge all levels of athletic ability to
improve speed, quickness, agility and correct form to prevent future
injuries. These activities transfer to any sport for more success and
confidence in competition or recreational play.
