I am teaching  a combination of Therapeutic Yoga and Yin Yang Yoga.

Therapeutic yoga focuses on small repetitive movements that develop mobility in the joints by release tension in their connections. It also develops strength in the small muscles which support the joints. Ultimately this therapeutic yoga is aimed at keeping the joints lubricated, mobile, strong and healthy.

Yin Yang or (Hatha) is a style of yoga that combines strengthening movements and long held stretches. Yang get the muscles activated, the blood flowing and develops strength by moving through a sequence of weight-bearing poses. Yin is about stretching and lengthening the connective tissues that wrap the whole body. Yin releases tension, strengthens the fascia where attached to joints and calms the mind. The balance of the two make this class makes you feel like you have had a complete practice.

Date Night Partner Yoga

Cost: $35/couple

Time:  December 1st at 7:30-8:30pm

Rather than practicing next to each other explore Yoga together enhancing the experience by assisting one another and stretching your levels of trust and strengthen communication with benefits far beyond the physical. Couples really stay in the moment and work together toward common goals which is mutually beneficial for both participants physically, emotionally, energetically and spiritually. Beginners welcome!

Benefits:

  • Releases tension and reduces stress

  • Increases energy flow between the couple

  • Creates unity and builds trust

  • Laughing together increases joy

  • Breathing together, co-operative movements and deep relaxation with your partner causes a phenomenon called entrainment. Entrainment happens when people unite in a similar rhythm. When you merge and sync your practice with your partner, your breath, movement, and body positions find a rhythm together. It creates harmony and a stronger bond and may be the most intimate and fulfilling times you’ll spend together.

When you and your partner practice together doing Asanas (yoga poses), you must trust each other in every pose. You rely on your partner to hold onto you, stay put, or stay balanced. This total reliance on the other creates a sense of trust and reassurance as you realize your partner is there for you. These small successes in a couple’s practice are different than in daily life but they create a special bond. A partner pose is give and take and you learn that sometimes you can and should relinquish control. All of the lessons learned in a yoga practice can and often do transfer to life off the mat.

While yoga is a serious practice that requires effort and focus, just figuring out how to get into a pose can lead to a fair amount of laughter. In addition to being fun, couple’s yoga is quite intimate. You have to work together and with the right attitude, this practice strengthens the bond between you.

Healing Sound Bath + Restorative Yoga

Cost: $25 per person per session

Time:  November 3rd and December 8th from 7:30 to 8:45pm

Restorative Yoga is a very gentle practice designed to calm the nervous system and create overall health in the body. In supported yoga postures, breathing and meditative techniques are applied and a profound sense of relaxation can infuse one’s entire being which leads to well-being. Known as the yoga of non-doing, it focuses on effortlessness and ease, using well-placed blankets, bolsters, yoga straps to safely support the body in various postures to invoke a natural state of balance, regeneration, and deep rest. Singing bowls produce a vibrational sound that resonates with the chakra of your

body, strengthening your energetic field, improving your health and directly affects your brain wave activity. Scientific analyses of electromagnetic brainwaves confirms that the waves produced by singing bowls produce alpha waves in our brain giving a feeling of deep relaxation, stimulates healing, creates feelings of peace and overall well-being.

Join us for this special restorative yoga class and bathe in healing vibrational sounds.

Ball Therapy + Yoga

Cost:  $25 per person

Time:  November 10th  7:30-8:45pm

This course fuses a spectrum of acupressure work, energy line massage and yoga. Learn how to find and stimulate acupressure

points along the meridians and how to release the blockages in your energy flow increasing the life force (Prana) through congested areas. By releasing unconscious holdings in the body that were created by repetitive habits, fear or need for protection, you can now pinpoint and resolve those holdings bringing your structure

back into alignment. Reduce stiffness and pain increasing overall flexibility.

During these  workshops we will release tension with a ball (tennis, racquet) clearing the flow of energy through many significant parts of the body re-energizing and reviving that which caries us through the world. We will be bringing fresh life into the organs and increasing the breath capacity. Learn to soothe a headache, ease tension in the face, jaw and hands so that you can communicate more freely and hold those you love closer, including yourself. Wake up your body and move beyond your previous limitations in your yoga practice and in your overall well-being. Have a ball, a block and a blanket handy.
