Jenison Eduave

Jenison Eduave is a Chattanooga native and began her dance training in 2003 through the Dance Alive and TIP
Scholarship program at Ballet Tennessee, under
direction of Barry and Anna VanCura. She trained in ballet, pointe, modern and jazz technique, and was featured in many roles as a company member and professional training student. Jenison began her teaching career in 2013 and has been on faculty at Ballet Tennessee, Weave Dance Company and Creative Arts Guild and has worked
as a guest choreographer with the Chattanooga Boys Choir and Project Motion.

Jenison has studied and performed with Weave Dance Company and The Pop-up Project, and has participated in summer programs with Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre, Sidra Bell Dance New York, and Yin Yue Dance Company. Through the Ailey School, she completed a Horton Technique teacher training program. In 2018,
Jenison was a two-time recipient of the Community Cultural Connections grant through ArtsBuild. She used the grant funds to create two productions called "Celebrations: a Community Collaboration,” a presentation of original bodies of work in dance, music, and visual arts that highlighted local professional artists in the
Chattanooga area.

Jenison holds a B.A. in Communications from the University of Tennessee
at Chattanooga. From 2018-2020 Jenison served as Program Administrator at Ballet Tennessee, where she shared her love of teaching, choreographing, and arts Administration, and from 2020-2022 she served as Outreach/Education Director of The Pop-Up Project. While in her role with The Pop-up Project, she created and
implemented a youth outreach program for underserved youth in Chattanooga.

Jenison performed as a professional artist and choreographed with The Pop-up Project in their immersive productions of “If These Walls Could Talk” (2022) and “Until the Sun Rises” (2023). In the summers of 2022 and 2023, she worked alongside Anna
VanCura and The Pop-up Project to relaunch the Dance Alive program. Jenison will continue her efforts in the relaunch of the legendary outreach program.

Currently, she serves as Artistic Director of Dance at Baylor School. Jenison serves as guest faculty for Ignite! Tennessee Youth Dance Festival, and continues to support and
work with dancers in the Chattanooga community. Beyond dance, Jenison enjoys reading and spending time with her husband, Jeri, and their dog, Amora.
