Crissy holds a Master's Degree in Human Movement Science from The University of Memphis and has 16 years of dance training including ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, hip hop and musical theater performance dance. She grew up performing in over 30 theatrical productions, and later performed in a traveling dance group, which won first place while competing on a cruise ship. 

Before moving to Signal Mountain in 2017, Crissy began her teaching career in Memphis in 2008 when she started up a small, informal dance program that met in a church basement. She then continued at Hutchison School, a prestigious, all-girl’s private school in Memphis, where she taught, led camps and choreographed large-scale shows at their Center for Excellence. Today, Crissy is excited to begin her fourteenth year teaching dance and her fourth year as a dance instructor at the Mountain Arts Community Center, on Signal Mountain. 

One of Crissy’s favorite things to do is inspire children to fall in love with the arts, as she did at a young age. Crissy views dance as a wonderful means of self expression for young girls and she wants her students to see that they can do anything if they believe in themselves. She uses humor as she teaches so that class is fun and light-hearted. Crissy is known for her creative, thematic courses, full of imaginative play, which often blend dance with stories and songs and end in a cumulative recital experience.
