Jimmy Galloway plays multiple stringed instruments and has taught at the Atlanta Institute of Music. He specializes in Fingerstyle Guitar using Partial Capos, Altered Tunings and Electronic Manipulation. He is equally at home on acoustic and electric music as well as playing on sessions ranging from Celtic, Folk, Rock, Jazz, Avant Garde, and Americana. After graduating from the University of North Carolina at Asheville with an audio degree he spent time in Nashville Tennessee as a Touring and Session Guitarist. He currently resides in Tennessee outside of Chattanooga, spending time raising his family, teaching privately, and doing remote Session Work from his home. He has shared the stage with a Who’s Who of Guitar Royalty: Tommy Emmanuel, Joe Bonamassa, Robben Ford, Jimmy Herring, Richard Thompson among many other artists that have appeared at the 30A Festival, Cayamo Music Festival and more.
Jimmy’s ideal students should have a fundamental understanding of basic Chord Structures, and some Music Theory.
Areas of focus will be: Tempo, Ear Training, Harmonic Vocabulary, Technique, Gear and much more.
