Creative Movement (Age 3-4)

Level 1 (Age 7-8)
An introduction to the world of dance designed for 3 & 4-year olds. Students will work to develop balance, coordination, and rhythm. Through the use of structured games and activities, each class will allow students to explore different ways of moving.
Designed for 5 & 6 year olds who have either already completed Creative Movement or who are new to ballet. Students will learn basic ballet steps and terminology while continuing to develop balance, coordination, flexibility, and rhythm.
For any 7 to 10 year olds who are interested in ballet. Students begin learning basic ballet barre and across the floor exercises. In addition to learning basic steps and terminology, dancers will begin to focus on correct technique and alignment.
Elizabeth DeSeguirant holds a dual BA in Fine Arts/Theatre Arts and has enjoyed an exciting career in dancing, acting, choreographing and producing in cities across the US, including Philadelphia, Los Angeles, Houston, New York City, Washington DC and Tampa. She has danced with numerous modern companies such as Psophonia Dance Company (Houston), Gin Dance (Washington DC) and Amalgamate Dance (New York City), has been awarded various dance residencies, and has guest participated in countless professional projects. Elizabeth has enjoyed teaching Creative Movement, Ballet, Modern, Contemporary, Jazz and Conditioning to all age groups throughout her 20 year career in multiple schools, colleges and studios nationwide such as YES Prep High School (Houston), BalletNova Center for Dance (DC), Metropolitan School of the Arts (DC), Joy of Motion (DC), St. Petersburg College (FL), and Premier Dance Academy (FL). Her work has received high placement and choreographic excellence awards in numerous National competitions, including YAGP, and has garnered high praise from local audiences and dance critics alike. In 2015, she founded the project based dance company, OneLight, which seeks to impact local audiences, artists and organizations with opportunities to collaborate, perform, and inspire. In 2018 she co-founded Pinellas Dance Collective and BridgeFest in the Tampa Bay Area to encourage connection in the local dance community. Having permanently relocated to Chattanooga TN in 2020, Elizabeth is excited to be joining the Chattanooga Ballet Faculty this Fall!
