Don’t miss the annual “Town of Signal Mountain Tree Lighting Festival,” from 5PM to 7:30PM at the Mountain Arts Community Center (MACC) on Saturday, December 6, 2014.
This year's Tree Lighting will be bigger than ever. “It’s the biggest thing the MACC does all year and it is our gift to the community,” said Barb Storm, executive director. “There is no admission charge and complimentary entertainment, activities, and refreshments are provided. Bring the entire family and enjoy a great evening,” she said.
Local businesses and organizations help decorate each room of the MACC helping to transform the MACC into a festive wonderland.
Please bring a canned food item to donate. The Signal Mountain Welfare Council will have a special barrel for canned food donations.
A variety of entertainment will be available by youth groups from local churches and schools. The performers include:
A song from "Wonderland", the musical Directed by Colleen Laliberte
Nolan Elementary School Choir and Hand Bell Choir
SMMHS Strings and Thrasher and Nolan strings
Thrasher Elementary School Choir and Hand Bell Choir
Signal Presbyterian Westminster Choir
Gallery 5 at the MACC will have on display the art of the Mountain Art Guild, Inc. or MAGI from Bachman Community Center.
Mrs. Claus will be back with her very popular story time.
And, of course, Santa will be here. Bring your camera to take family pictures with the man in red. At 7:30PM all activities will wrap up, and Santa will lead the way to the town tree, where we will light it for the season. And if you like to sing, there will be caroling around the illuminated tree.
Many Christmas crafts and activities will be available for children . . . including writing a letter to Santa. Mrs. Clause will be telling stories and the cafeteria will have food and refreshments along with local vendors for a quick shopping opportunity.
The Mountain Arts Community Center is located at 809 Kentucky St., Signal Mountain, TN. 37377. For more information call the MACC at 423-886-1959 or log on to SignalMACC.org. The MACC is handicapped accessible.
