Art Camp for Kids

Exploring the natural beauty of our MACC grounds, we will learn to see with new eyes, and turn what is around us into art. At the same time we will find out how to use various techniques to make that art.

Bricks 4 Kids Ninja Camp
June 15-June 19
Accept the Bricks 4 Kids Ninja Challenge! Enter the Spinjitzu Zone and show off your building skills at the LEGO Ninjago themed camp, featuring spinner battles, Bricks 4 Kidz ninja models, and more! Campers will take home a t-shirt and custom mini-figure at the end of the week.

Bricks 4 Kidz Movie Making Camp
June 15 – 19
Ages: 7-11 years old
1:00 - 4:00 PM
Lights, cameras, LEGO® action! Use LEGO® Bricks to tell your story, complete with music, special effects and all your favorite LEGO® mini-figure characters! In this unique and creative camp, students will plan, script, stage, shoot, and produce their own mini-movie using Stop Motion Animation. Working as a team, students will use LEGO® components to build the set and props, then shoot their movie using a camera. They will use movie-making software to add special effects, titles, credits and more. Don't miss your chance to be a movie producer! Cost: $190 (MACC members $175). Please make checks out to "BFK Chattanooga" Min camp size: 8, Maximum camp size: 12. Campers will take home a USB wristband with their movie, a t-shirt, and custom mini-figure.

Children design and build their own puppets, produce a show, and write and record soundtrack. Includes T-shirt, puppet bag, DVD. Performance June 26th at 4 pm.

Summer Drummer Days week 3
Instructor: Chip Hancock
Various drum set workshops, snare drum, percussion ensemble, exploring percussion instruments, and rhythm for winds, strings, and singers. Camps are Monday – Thursday. Morning camps are 9:00 to 12:00 and afternoon camps are 1:00 to 4:00.The rhythm classes for non-percussionists and the Adult Drum Set classes are only $130.00/$115.00 for MACC members.

Week Six: July 13-16, 9-Noon: No camp;1-4pm: Rhythm for non-percussionists; 5:30-7:30pm Drum Set Camp for Adults
Week Seven: July 20-23, 9-Noon: Beginning Drum Set;1-4pm: Open Percussion ensemble; 5:30-7:30pm Rhythm for non-percussionists
Week Eight: July 27-30, 9-Noon: Beginning Snare and Keyboard Percussion; 1-4pm: Percussion Camp;5:30-7:30pm Drum set camp for Adults.
