STUDIO ART

Visiting Artist Sara Coolidge
"Adult Christmas Workshop" December 10th, 9:30-12:00
"Mommy and Me Workshop" December 11th, 9:30-12:00
Create a Christmas Banner and Ornament with artist/writer Sara Coolidge, the MACC’s visiting artist, showcased in the magnificently restored MACC Art Studio Dec. 10 and 11 from 9:30 til noon.  Samples of her work will also be on display during the Town Tree Lighting Festival on Dec. 7.  She will be assisted by MACC artist/teacher, Val Gibson.  Sign up on the MACC website or call the MACC at 423-886-1959 for more information.  Participation is limited, so sign up early.
Be inspired to start a new holiday tradition in the peaceful and creative atmosphere of a Mom’s day out on the 10th or the 11th.  Bring your pre-schooler! (On the 11th only)  Ornament designs are inspired by the masters:  Kandinksy, Mondrian, Van Gogh, Picasso, and the participants flights of holiday fantasy.
Sara will teach participants to create designs on a hand-painted Christmas banner and an ornament on the 10th, or a hand-painted canvas garland and ornament Dec. 11.  Creations will use mixed media on paper and/or canvas to decorate your home for the holidays.
Select a color scheme to blend with your holiday décor while you cherish time spent creating for and/or with your own little artist.  Preschoolers are optional, not mandatory.
Sara teaches classes on creative writing at the Signal Mountain Public Library or her children’s book in the “Picturing Love” series:  Edward the Dog and his Boy Rover.  Cost is $35 per class, $15 materials fee.  For non-residents, class is $50 plus $15 materials fee.
