Students will use Roblox to model in a 3D space. Using a combination of art and engineering, they’ll scale, rotate, and move around objects to build a custom play space. Students will then get an introduction to coding in Roblox using Lua, a professional scripting language used by game designers around the world. Cost: $125 (MACC members $110). Learn-to-Mod Begins: Tues. Oct. 29 October 29-December 10 (6 sessions, no class 11/26) Grades 2nd-6th 4:15 - 5:30 PM Students will LearnToMod in Minecraft! They will use Blockly, a programming language developed specifically for kids, to learn to use essential programming tools and commands including loops, variables, and functions. Students will then use these new skills to write their very own programs and be modeling in Minecraft in no time! Cost: $125(MACC members $110). Sprouts Cooking SPROUTS COOKING CLASS Begins: Wed. Sept. 11 Instructor: Sprouts Cooking Ages 5-12 4:30-5:30 PM Session 1: Sept. 11, 18, 25, Oct. 2, 9, 16 Session 2: Oct. 30, Nov. 6, 13, 20, Dec. 4, 11 Sprouts Cooking classes offer kids an exciting opportunity to take a weekly food adventure! Each course allows students to have a hands-on cooking experience. We cook up a new and different recipe each week, and together, children will learn interesting facts about cooking, healthy ingredients, and culture! Our goal is to inspire fun and creativity in the kitchen! We provide young chefs a unique culinary adventure, with an all-inclusive, hands-on approach. We provide all of the tools, ingredients and instruction needed to cook up a fun, delicious and healthy snack that the kids will get to taste and enjoy each class. We believe the more we can do to interest children in food, the more likely they are to build a foundation for healthy eating. Cost: $125 (MACC Members $110) + $30 material fee. Everyday Etiquette For 4th & 5th Graders Begins Tuesday, October 22 Instructor: Dawn Jumper, Etiquette Education Consultant Courtesy, respect, and self-confidence in social situations are all qualities that become important during the “tween” years. Games and hands-on learning create an engaging and fun learning environment. Everyday Etiquette class teaches skills that build confidence and relate to students’ everyday lives. The last class we will celebrate with a festive dessert buffet while we learn and practice table manners. Tuesdays from 4:30-5:30 on Oct. 22, 29, November 5, and 12. Cost: $115 (MACC members $100) includes four classes, take-home materials, and a certificate of completion.
